Leather Arts Clubs
Taxonomy Code: PS-8200.0550-450
Programs that provide organized opportunities for individuals to pursue their interest in the leather arts, often through the medium of a club or society which is under the leadership of people who are knowledgeable in the subject. Activities may include lectures by people with leather arts expertise; demonstrations of leather and suede working techniques; and regular meetings at which members share information about current projects, enjoy the company of other leather arts enthusiasts and have time to work on their projects. Some leather arts clubs may also provide facilities for leather working, sponsor exhibits or sales of clothing and other articles created by members, publish a newsletter or provide a library of resources about the craft. Included are Internet-based virtual clubs, WebRings devoted to the subject and clubs where members meet face-to-face.
